Examples of miscasting that damaged a show Oct 23
2012, 07:45:02 PM
Whereas I am constantly amazed by her talent on every level (Truly, God blessed this kid as the ULTIMATE threat, and she harkens us all back to the Golden Days of Broadway when stars were truly stars), I cannot help but think that Sutton Foster's casting as Jo in LITTLE WOMEN was a mistake. Not a fatal one, because she was great in the role, just not "right'. I think the show, which so beautifully weaves the tale of the March sisters into a fun and lively fantasy, would have had more success i

Jay LernerZ... Thanks for the editorial. Obviously it kept you interested enough to keep going. Things were going along quite well until Jordan woke up from his nappy-time. Jordan, do I have to tell your mommy you are using potty-talk?

Jordan, I do not use a "cauldron" as you so colorfully put it. That went out with the dark ages. I will, however, open up the voodoo app on my smartphone and send a little something your way.

Billy, if it brings you pleasure, then yes. I am a witch. Pointy black hat, straw-like hair, and I disappear into a cloud of errant hair-pins when I cackle and zip out of the room. Deserving people... I know lots of them. Infinitely gifted, brilliantly talented individuals who have made the concious choice to rest on their laurels and attempt to go no further. But what of the young person in Kansas or Wisconsin, stuck working on their parents' farm, who has mad passion to share t

As i told Billy, the moniker of "Witch" is strictly honorary. I was targeted by Jordan a few days ago, and he sent an angry mob to my house to burn me at the stake. Alas, I did not burn. That is not because I am a witch, but my heart is so cold, the flames fled in fear. Patrick, would you be open to discussion of the other topic either by e-mail, or another medium?

I have this production of OUR TOWN in my video library... Phenomenal. At this point in her life, I imagine she has graduated into the character actor category. Perhaps she could play Dolly Levi in a revival of The Matchmaker, Aunt Abby, or Aunt Martha in Arsenic and old Lace, Maybe even Big Momma in Cat on a Hot TinRoof?

Billy, I have been called many things. Witch has never been one of them until I encountered young Jordan. And "magical opportunity" is not really a just description of what I am talking about. Nothing magical about it. It is more like giving a handyman a fully loaded toolbox and saying "I know you know how to use all this stuff. Question is, are you going to?"

Playbilly, Jordan has somehow gotten it into his head that I practice witchcraft, and have an alliance with the Devil. As for the other item, tell me your thoughts on the subject. I would love to get as many opinions on this as possible. No worries. feelings will not be hurt. Speak your mind and I will digest everything I can.

Jordan... Must I, once again, summon all the dark powers of Hell to silence your lying, forked tongue? By the way, how do you keep the windows clean in that beautiful glass house you live in?

Gaveston, thanks for the reply, and advice. I have been in the entertainment industry as actor, director, producer, writer, every aspect of the technical side of the process, for over 27 years, and quite honestly, have never come across something like this until about 6 months ago. Truly, it intrigued me, and after much research and speaking with the personalities behind it, I have to say, the benefits far outweigh the concern. There is honestly the potential that what has been put forth coud

If it's free, and there is nothing to indicate a shill or a troll, and it could be of benefit to me, should I still be afraid of it? The factor of the unknown, and the undeniable validity of the personalities behind what I am talking about create an interesting struggle. What would you do if a total stranger came to you with a tool that could potentially be of great benefit to you in your professional career as a singer, dancer, actor, comedian, reality tv star wanna-be, and just put i
