re: How much does practice really help?
 Aug 7 2007, 10:21:05 PM
Practice means everything!!!
When I was young I didn't have a strong voice or acting ability at all, and I didn't get cast in shows. I'm 17 now, have been cast in four succesive leads and went to Interlochen summer camp for theatre- all thanks to simply tons of practice.

I know someone who made it to NYC succesfully without a single voice lesson, and yes I am wildly jealous of her: but that can't be everyone.

Wow! In HSM I really really didn't like Effron, so I was pretty upset when he was cast as Link. But in that video he sounded GREAT! I can't wait for this film!

So far it seemsmost people are saying go and decide for youself, which I agree with. However, there have been several posts that hated it, to simply balance that, I loved it. No- it is not the new Les Miz, but was a beautiful and powerful show. One suggestion- look up a synopsis before you go, it will help clarify the plot. It was first created by Irish producers who assumed people knew the story, so there are some things that go unsiad that an American audiance wouldn't get. It's like if a musi

I agree with so many of these! Only one song, though, invariabley moves me to tears EVERY time I hear it: Momma, Look Sharp- 1776

There are so many!!!

Oh, and even if you hate the show, Hadley singing I'll Be There melted me right into my seat. Best moment of the show.

The Pegasus Players of Chicago are currently performing The fRogs at Truman College. I went last night: It Was So Cool!!! I love this show to begin with, and it was awsome. Anyone in Chicago, it closes the 3rd, see it if you possibly can! If for no other reason, when else will you get to watch a musical performed in a Swimming Pool!?!
I love this show!
For info go to the Pegasus Player's website (google them)
