I've worked on this song a lot in a class. I've also performed it- it is most def a ballad to me. In the context of the show "Woman of the Year," and reading the lyrics out- it doesn't make a lot of sense for it to be "upbeat." In my personal opinion the only reason it could maybe be made more uptempo would be by having the emotion and drive behind it. Josh Young covers it on his CD and its a ballad- its up on itunes. That could be some help.

This is very cool. And I'm sure more is put into the show that's theatre related: just a few weeks ago there was an episode where one of the housewives gets drunk and passes out in a mall dressing room- she is wearing this dress and she runs to the door but there are gates up over the doors and so the dress/gate/lighting- the whole picture looks VERY familiar to the gate and Clara near the end of LITP. It was obvious to me and quite cute.
