ALW did say in an interview that Madonna was the right age to play Norma Desmond and that she would be right for the role. However, I think Madonna murdering one of ALW's scores already is quite enough. I've never heard such flat, lifeless, passionless, dull and boring renditions of his songs as Madonna sang in Evita. But Madge is a billionaire so what do I Know?

Just got back from London and saw 6 shows - here's my quick ratings, THE BODYGUARD *****stars - never seen the film but good story, sets, great music and above all outstanding performances by Heather Headley, Debbie Kirkup and Lloyd Owen. SCROOGE ***stars - thought I'd see something festive. Good performances all round, especially Tommy Steele. Well staged and an easy enough story to watch but sadly not one memorable tune.
