I agree with Lennon, the Cirque du Soleil "Love" in Vegas sounds much more interesting.

Would this show work without a "name" actor like Channing or Miller or Morris or Morse or Rooney? It is a funny CD but would it work otherwise?

Is there anyway we could give a retro-active Tony to Bernadette for 2003 when that bizatch Winokur stole it from her?

And Winokur should NOT have that Tony, Bernadette Peters' Rose was much more deserving of the award. UGH!

Wow, I am shocked that Laura Benati is only 26 or 27 - I always thought she was in her late 30s, especially after seeing her on "Starved" (which by the way was a BRILLIANT show).

Tony Awards & short runs - a question May 24
2006, 11:00:55 AM
I am showing my Broadway ignorance with this question, but here goes. Now that "Lestat" has announced closing on 5-28, giving them a total of 39 performances, I was wondering if any other shows have had similarly short runs and been nominated for Tony Awards? The only show that springs to mind when I say "short run" is "Anyone Can Whistle" and they received a nomination for choreography only (which I don't understand - I love this score!) Any thoughts?

okay i guess saying this show needs to close is just my personal opinion busting out, a more accurate statement would be why are people still going to see this show? it's horribly average and unappealing.

sorry i have an opinion, but i do - and this opinion actually has a basis since i've seen the show. i was glad to put all my thoughts on the survey they gave out at the beginning of the show. i guess i was just disappointed and was expecting something more than what i got. obviously there are opinions that differ from mine, otherwise why would the house have been full? but mine is mine and yours is yours.

i don't have a show, im a theatre goer and i was REALLY pissed to be spending that kind of money for something so pathetically pedestrian and horribly average.
