Mack & Mabel City Center Encores!
 Feb 20 2020, 11:46:01 AM

Attended the 2/19 evening performance. Went in with little to no expectations. Familiar with some of the songs but none of the plot/characters. Left pleasantly surprised. Woke up this morning happy that I saw the production! Paid approx $60 for row G Mezz and loved the show so much more than I did paying $33 for Beetlejuice in the Orchestra! In fact, if I had the time I would go see Mack and Mabel a second time for $150 full price! Act one was a bit flawed for me as far as the story. I enjoye

Have email announcements been sent out regarding the Hadestown CD signing this Thursday night? Was it a sign up by email lottery or once you sign up you can attend?

I attended the Saturday, August 3 matinee performance. Was unfortunate that there were SO many seats unsold. The ushers were even moving people forward prior to the curtain going up.

I am a fan of the Meatloaf BOOH album. Overall I enjoyed the show. The set is amazing. I enjoyed the camera being used in the bedroom to project the action on the big 'billboard'. Special effects really (in my humble opinion) were merely lots of confetti explosions.

The performers were fanta

Couldn't agree more. I attended his 92nd Street Y performance and absolutely loved it. Such a handsome and talented guy!

Live Action Little Mermaid - Ursula?
 Jul 2 2019, 03:07:43 PM

I think the point when people say "Lizzo? Who is Lizzo?" is that especially for the biggest characters: Ariel, Ursula...Disney, Hollywood and the movie going public will want a "name". They will want an instantly recognizable, bankable name on those roles. It doesn't mean Lizzo doesn't have the chops to do the role...it is just that she isn't as known as Melissa McCarthy. I never heard of Awkwafina but that person is the role of Scuttle and I wouldn't buy (

Her show is captured wonderfully on DVD and available here: http://www.reeltimevideoproduction.com/solo-performers.html

It is the same exact word for word show she has been performing at various venues.

No More Stage Door Autographs

In all due fairness...Nathan Lane used to stage door. He did when he was in the Producers. At the time I waited, spoke to him, he signed anything you provided: Producers or Lion King etc. So something between then and now clicked or went wrong or he just got tired of it. The masses of people surrounding the stage door were ridiculous then and they are now.

20 plus years ago, before eBay, I do not remember it being as bad and as un-enjoyable as it is now. I am sure that far too many act

Hugging Actors At Stage Door
 Jun 4 2019, 09:28:19 AM

And people get annoyed and question why actors don't want to stage door? Behavior at the stage door has entirely gotten out of hand. Shaking my head. I read this post a few days ago and still when I see this subject (hugging actors) pop up it annoys me. Just because we form an emotional bond with them from our seat after watching a performance does NOT mean one has been mutually formed from them to us. This is entirely creepy and validates why actors might want to avoid the stage door.

Don't think it is being dramatic. A few tracks at a time over the course of weeks is just stupid. I'll wait.

Thank you...this sounds like the same show I have seen the past 4 times I've seen her: Birdland, Carlyle, Carnegie Hall...

If you have never seen Chita - by all means GO! I'm at the point now that I can recite the banter between songs with her.

Six reviews
 May 29 2019, 10:08:03 AM

I saw SIX in Chicago on Saturday night, May 25th. It was AMAZING! Loved it SO much...however what could have made it even all that much more enjoyable would have been if the patrons in the audience, particularly the women, would STOP the damn screaming! I understand you are excited but for G sake shut the F up! Whooping in a high pitched scream every time the performers are taking a breath of air is not your cue to let out an ear splitting scream!

Is the show her typical retrospective of her career?
