Love Never Dies is in Denver now. A friend saw it last night and loved it.
Can't wait for Bat Out Of Hell.

when was the last time a show played this long at City Center? Don't shows usually only run, at most, a few weeks?

Too bad this won't be able to compete at the Tonys, I think it would have had a shot at some of the more technical categories.

I was planning on seeing this when it hit Philly in the spring, but now I can save on an Amtrak fare :)

its playing city center because broadway theater owners wont give Michael Cohl a house now after spider-man, botching the Night w/ Janis Joplin transfer and calling off a huge arena tour of JCS, he is an absolute liability

The NYC critics will make mincemeat of this. It isn’t, by any standards, a well put together piece of musical theatre. I saw it twice. Second time to make sure my eyes and ears weren’t deceiving me. Ghastly.

And this was without the presence of producer David Sonenberg and composer Jim Steinman. Put all three together, and you get this unfortunate marketing:
"From the people who brought you Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Dance of the Vampires comes the inevitable attempt to cash in on a Meat Loaf album."
Couldn't find a Broadway house? Plausible, but I'm thinking the real answer is wouldn't find a Broadway house if their lives depended upon it. Needless to say, this show has legs of milk and sugar-water at best.

1. What happened with the Janis Joplin transfer?
2. Is CC subject to Bway union contracts?

The linked article now just goes to BWW's home page. (did they jump the gun?)

Just my guess, but I believe since this is just a stop for the tour, they’ll be on whatever contract the tour is on.

The story, script, direction and acting kinda have to be seen to be believed but if you love the music, then it’s going to be a really fun night at the theatre

Has anyone seen the show? Hasn't it been very well received in the UK?
Also, I have heard that there are moments in the show with pyrotechnics/gunshots/etc. Are they particularly startling or loud? I know someone, who is interested in seeing it in NYC, but tends to be pretty jumpy/startled easily (with gunshots & the like.)
Should such a person go to the show or avoid it.

Unless I've missed something, I have counted no members of the Neverland Express, in the programme or any of the show's press. (All of the most recent Meat Loaf alumni, incidentally, are busy with their own Loaf-a-like act, which you can learn about here. We'll see which show lasts longer.)

Ain't that the truth. *grimace*

I heard this as well and it boggles my mind. Terrible for all involved.

How awful for everyone involved.

Are you all saying the North American tour has been cancelled? The Toronto engagement was always scheduled to end on Saturday night, 11/3/2018.
I'm asking because I'm supposed to write a check for my "January in LA" tickets in a few days. No point in paying money if I'm only going to have to ask for a refund...
