re: Bitch about the 2009 Tony nominations here ! May 5

WOW .. I am TOTALLY underwhelmed by the nominations this year. I am especially upset about the shut out of 9 TO 5 (especially for Musical and Steph and Megan). In all of the categories, I have a pretty good idea as to who is going to win. Pretty predictable. Not too sure I'll be watching this year. If I have nothing better to do, then I will. Boo .. just ... boo.

"Kimberly Akimbo" is a hilarious and heart-rending play about a teenager with a rare condition (Progeria) causing her body to age faster than it should. When she and her family flee Secaucus under dubious circumstances, Kimberly is forced to reevaluate her life while contending with a pregnant hypochondriac mother, a rarely sober father, a scam-artist aunt, her own mortality and, most terrifying of all, the possibility of first love. It's written by David Lindsay-Abaire (the Tony nominated write

re: New York Accent Mar 26

I LOVE this show!! As a matter of fact, I've played Jay three times!! The way I first learned a New York accent was I watched the movie. Then I went through my script and wrote things in phonetically (the way it sounded to me -- for example: "ARTY" turns into "AHTY." Just look at the way Neil Simon wrote some of "Grandma's" lines. He wrote them the way they would sound in German, to help the actress playing Grandma. You can do the same thing with New York). Then, I proceeded to

re: What show do you want to be revived on Broadway? Sep 9
2006, 05:04:00 AM
1. "Funny Girl" (with Stephanie J. Block -- no one else can play that role. It belongs to her.) 2. "Bye Bye Birdie" (No updating. No no no. It would loose so much of it's charm.) 3. "A Little Night Music" (with Patti Cohenoer (sp?) as Desiree.) 4. "Lost in Yonkers"(I need to play Louie!) 5. "West Side Story" (with Twyla Tharp choreographing.)

The revival sheet music doesn't match the revival recording. I had this same problem. The sheet music, while in the revival packaging, matches the original cast recording. I don't know why they did this, but they did. Hope that helps.
