re: Hairspray Reaction @ Your Theatre Jul 21

I was at a 7:30 showing at a theater in Jersey that was packed to the max. The audience loved it. Besides the young girls sighing each time Link appeared on screen, they also clapped to the music on several occasions. There was also a great round of applause when Penny and Seaweed kissed. Many stayed to watch the end credits.

Perhaps my only complaint, was that it was hard to hear the music above all the preteen girls in the theater sighing over Zac. I really am getting old. I was at last night's last Equity show of Hairspray and I am proud to give you a review of one of the best of the many performances I have had the pleasure of attending across the country. I am sad to see this talented cast part ways, as I see them as a family of dynamic spirit that exudes on stage. The ever vivacious Jimmy V. led the musicians and cast to a full house. You could literally feel his enthusiasm (as well as see it from almost any seat). (Portland is also to be commended
