Idina Menzel in the Gershwin with a failing pop career.

I just think it would be better if it closed and the rights were available to community theatre. There at least would be a glimmer of life there.

What is that from? I feel like it's from something like Will and Grace?

Joey McIntyre was actually good.

Ok, I get that Singer2, but they'd be fine locally. I mean, I saw a fantastic production of CATS at a local high school.

It's just ALW's ego that I want to burst.

Will Phantom Ever Close?

I don't hate it because it's bad. The score is mediocre and the story's fine. I hate it because it's successful. I know, this sounds horrible, but now I think it's time for Phantom to drop the chandelier once and for all.

It's stupid, I know, but do you think it will close any time soon? I'm waiting for the day Broadway is without a white mask (and a wedding gown at the Winter Garden, but that's another story).

I think Ragtime (though a musical and not a play) sums up a lot of where this country started. As Margo said, Americans are obsessed with the American dream. This is clearly seen throughout the show in Mother's search for a better home life, Tateh's search for a better, more opportunistic life, and Coalhouse's search for a more just life.

I don't know. I think it works. But alas, it was a book first.

I'd check out Legally Blonde actually. Les Mis is stupid these days and Drowsy's funny but you may not like the score. I think it'd be fun* to see LB.

Oh I totally agree with the fun show aspect, I was just saying Plot B may be a little harder to relate to.

Hairspray may have something to say, but we must keep in mind that the civil rights movement was primarily an American ordeal. Perhaps the brits can understand that and look past it, but they may not be able to relate to this specific event? Sure everyone can relate to acceptance of others, but the civil rights movement in the 60s?

I'm writing a new musical with a great idea that no one's ever thought of before.

I always wondered that too.

I think it's a faulty book.
