re: Chorus line, Curtains, or another show?
 Jul 29 2007, 09:53:31 PM
Curtains...David Hyde Pierce is so charming and wonderful in his role. The dancing is fun and high-energy. I left this show feeling truly invigorated.

No problem! It's truly a fun audition. Best wishes to you!

alex2155, if it's any help, the last Mary Poppins dance call (sometime in the spring of this year) they started with a typing combination and saw both Equity and Non-Equity performers.
re: Kristen Bell as Elle Woods?
 Jul 26 2007, 10:27:22 AM
I think Kristen could be a great Elle Woods. I also think Megan Sikora would be fantastic as Elle.
re: Blonsky and Shaiman on Regis NOW
 Jul 26 2007, 09:52:49 AM
Nikki Blonsky seems so sweet & down-to-earth. I am very happy for her and hopes that she finds continued success.
re: Imput on my show choices!!

^^ Hey, I only did that once, okay twice. Er, I mean...

re: Alice Workshop

Oh, I gotcha. I just misunderstood "secret." I hope I didn't come off as rude. Best wishes on the rest of your time in FL!

milliemarch, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but if this workshop is "sorta of our secret" as you put it, why open a thread about it on a public discussion board?
re: CAMP - It Could Be the Next RENT!
 Jul 21 2007, 09:46:12 AM
I hope this does not offend anyone, but I was not a fan of CAMP, and I hope it does not become a Broadway show. If for some reason it does, then I hope it gets some HUGE re-writes.
re: What's next for all of these empty theaters?
 Jul 14 2007, 06:58:05 PM
I wonder if The Wiz has a bid for any of these theatres.
re: What's next for the St. James now that YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is headed to
 Jul 13 2007, 10:49:50 PM
^^ What makes you think that?
re: Tarzan Tour?
 Jul 13 2007, 10:47:50 PM
I could definitely see a production of Tarzan being mounted in one of Disney's theme parks. It would be great for the Animal Kingdom in FL. For some reason, however, I feel like a full-scale, national touring production is highly unlikely at this point.

Wow! So many empty theatres, so many unemployed (aspiring) performers... I hope to see these theatres filled with shows in the coming season.
re: BROADWAY BARES in Vegas

Yes. I'm not sure how I feel about this happening, unless a portion of the earnings continues to benefit the fight against AIDS.
re: Tap dancing musicals
 Jul 13 2007, 10:30:39 PM
Very true, taptap. I think it was made into more of a tap routine inthe film version, because Charles McGowan (who plays Mike in the film) is such a phenomenal tapper.

dancinfan, what a great and extensive list. I would categorize Hot Feet more as a show with tap in it, rather than a tap show.

Sophisticated Ladies and Black & Blue also have a lot of tap.

re: Chita Rivera - 'I Can Cook Too'
 Jul 12 2007, 12:38:26 AM
What an odd concept. I wonder what the context of this number was. At any rate, I think Chita is a wonderful performer.
re: SOUTH PACIFIC Dates at LCT
 Jul 11 2007, 12:12:23 PM
I cannot wait to see this production. Better yet, I hope I get to audition for it!
re: Newest Movie Musical...Footloose
 Jul 11 2007, 12:10:15 PM
Hmm... It's great that the film industry is investing in the "Movie Musical" genre. Footloose wouldn't be my first choice, but I also don't have the $MONEY$ to make that decision. Oh well...
