Does anyone have any predictions?

Could 'A Catered Affair' go here?

The Grinch has it starting in November, Guys and Dolls most-likely after that.

Catered Affair wants (or has?) the Kerr.

Oh, right, I forgot about the Grinch...

What about the Ford Center? Is anything scheduled to open there yet?

Darling, the Hilton is the new name of the Ford Center.

There's still the theater Company was in - is any ideas there? Or now that the Rodgers is vacant - anything for there?

Last I heard (through grapevines and speculation), In the Heights is looking at the Rodgers and the producers of November (the new David Mamet play with Nathan Lane) are looking at the Barrymore.

How In the Heights would fill up the 1500 seat Rodgers since it couldn't fill up the, what, 100 seat place where it was before, is beyond me. Updated On: 7/13/07 at 04:02 PM

Yankee beat me to it. As of yesterday the rumor backstage at In the Heights was that they were getting the Rodgers.

Very true, but with Broadway comes more exposure and more acclaim. And it opens up other oppurtunities as well.

But If I were the producers, I'd wait and open the show in March or something right before the Tonys. I don't see this show being able to open in the fall and last until next June. But I guess we'll see. I didn't think Drowsy could sell out the Marquis but it did.

Ha! Sorry, I was looking at the empty theaters listed on Playbill.com and the Ford Center and Hilton are two seperate entities on there...sorry about that.

Drowsy had lots going for it - primarily great word-of-mouth from Los Angeles, as well as recognizable names like Sutton Foster, Georgia Engel, Edward Hibbert, et al.

In the Heights has none of that. It's a niche show. Let's hope they market it properly.

Sort of OT but this coming theater season looks really promising...

I, for one, can't wait for Mauritius...and I honestly am not sure why. Haha...

But, I thought In the Heights was doing well financially off-bway hence the move to Broadway...is it just moving because it got such good reviews?

There's no such thing as doing "financially well" Off-Broadway in this day-and-age (unless you're a non-profit).

I, also, can't wait for Mauritius....if only for the cast.

Just thinking now, there are SO many empty theatres at the moment popping into my head. I know that a bunch of them have plans, but still. Per Talkin' Broadway:

Dark Broadway Theaters

Barrymore Theatre
Belasco Theatre
Biltmore Theatre
Booth Theatre
Brooks Atkinson Theatre
Hilton Theatre
Imperial Theatre
Longacre Theatre
Lyceum Theatre
Richard Rodgers Theatre
St. James Theatre
Vivian Beaumont Theatre

The Belasco has been empty for quite some time now, has it not?

And the Brooks Atkinson won't be empty for long...I hope GREASE proves to be another first-rate revival from Marshall...

Only since the Tonys.

Don't forget to add more once these limited engagements come out. Late August/early September will be extremely dead for Broadway.

I think that they should just turn the Belasco into a haunted house.
