John Rando is the reason Wedding Singer ran as long as it did--it was an entertaining audience pleaser. You can't blame The Dinner Party on Rando--it's one of Neil Simon's worst plays ever.

And the one thing Urinetown was not is "boring"--far from it. Urinetown was one of the best-directed shows I've ever seen...and the direction was not stolen from the Fringe. I saw it in both places and John Rando's work on it was magic. And it won him a Tony as Best Director, in a category tha

I was there last night, and thought it was sensational. The music was glorious. Having seen it in New York, it was interesting to see how they've adjusted the design and direction at little to accomodate a proscenium stage.

In a way, I liked this tour production better...maybe it's that the show itself just gets better the second time you see it. David Burnham as Fabrizio was fantastic, amazing, what a voice! What a presence! He's a real honest-to-goodness star. Christine Andrea

Did anybody see this show? Ohmigod, it was AMAZING...Steve Lutvak isn't just an awesome songwriter, but he's an amazing singer...people were cheering and laughing and crying...Nancy Anderson and Robert Pitkov (he was Perchik in Fiddler) and Katherine (I can't remember her last name, but she understudies Ashley in Mary Poppins) sang songs from Steve's musicals with him, and it was just a wonderful night...anyone interested in the future of the Broadway musical should keep an eye on him, he's the

In case anyone wants to hear their songs, Steve Lutvak is performing Monday night, October 30th, at the West Bank, along with Nancy Anderson and some other guest stars, and they're going to be singing some Freedman & Lutvak songs from Kind Hearts and Coronets. The ones I've heard are AMAZING...
