Frankie and Johnny $25 opening night
 May 27 2019, 06:29:39 PM

They did the same for "The Boys in the Band" last year. I was a little cheesed when I found out my tickets were for the press opening instead of the other one! LOL.

I did buy the $25 tickets for "Frankie."

I am going to the 9:30 show, sitting in the balcony.

Any idea what time I should get in line to get decent seats?

Right-wing decries
 Nov 30 2013, 09:30:13 AM
In case you missed it, Daryl Roth and the "Kinky Boots" Twitter feed shared a link to a sermon that my pastor preached about "Kinky Boots." (Don't worry; it's positive!) It was part of a series called "The Beatitudes of Broadway." The church is Virginia-Highland Church in Atlanta, GA.

Thank you! That was my assumption.
Attending a performance being taped by Lincoln Center Archive?
 Jul 10 2012, 10:58:00 AM
Good morning, all! Thank you in advance for your help, and please forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere. I did a search but was unable to find the answer to my question.

I will be in NYC not this weekend but next, in part, to see "Porgy and Bess." I understand that the Lincoln Center Archive is recording the show on Friday, July 20. So, my question is this: is attending the performance they are recording a special experience, an annoyance, or neither?

Thank you again!

War Horse seating
 Jul 18 2011, 11:36:13 AM
Good morning! I am looking into tickets for War Horse in September, and I am discovering a variety of options, everything from center in the second row of the loge to fifth row, but in the far house right section. The closer ones are more expensive, but are they better seats?

Thanks in advance!

Labor Day in the city?

Thanks, Spike!
Labor Day in the city?
 Jun 14 2011, 12:09:36 PM
Hello all! Thank you in advance for your help. I have a quick set of questions for NYC residents or frequent travelers: What is the city like over Labor Day weekend? Is it inundated with tourists or has the summer rush subsided?

In looking at my calendar, that may be the best time for me to make it this year, and I want to know what might be in store!

Thank you!

David

I am so nitpicky, that I correct iTunes when I download a cast album.

Another well-written review; thanks!

I also like "Grandma's Song."

Great review; thanks for posting a well-written and concise summation.

As I recall, in London, act one ended in dim light with Billy walking off the stage with a defiant stare into the audience. I remember thinking how b*llsy that was to trust such a young performer with a bit of blocking that easily could have let contrived. Instead, it set the tone for Billy for the rest of the show.

Grey Gardens.

From last week's "Dallas Observer":

And if the adaptation rights can be worked out, the season will conclude with another premiere, a new musical version of the beloved children's book Sarah, Plain and Tall, a project Moriarty believes has Broadway potential.

I find Julianne's singing to be bland and devoid of personality.
