"All Shook Up" Character Question
 Nov 3 2007, 11:22:47 PM
Hi everybody!

I just had a question about the musical, "All Shook Up". I was thinking about auditioning for a production of it, and I don't know much about it.
I was wondering...is it vital to the plot that Lorraine be African-American?
Sorry if this is a "duh!" question. I know almost nothing about the show.

I'd really appreciate any help/info that you can give me. Thanks so much!

God Bless,

re: Good smaller/intimate shows! Please Help!

Fantasticks- Classic, romantic, good songs
Forever Plaid- This one is only four actors, way easy set-wise, and SO much fun to do

Try the mti (musical theater international) website. You can search shows by cast size.

Hope that helps!!

Well, I was going to suggest Idina, since she seems to have that kind of earthy quality that Esmeralda needs, but I was afraid I'd be shot down very quickly and painfully by the anti-Wickeders

P.S. Flicker...I'm in love with your avatar

Sorry. Double post.

I was just thinking the same thing! Terrance Mann would be absolute perfection in that role. (It's incredibly similar to Javert, but, hey, who cares?)
I can't cast someone famous as Quasimodo (though I will say NLB is an interesting and rather brilliant choice), because I must see my friend play this role someday (If you'd heard his voice, you'd understand why...)
Esmeralda- Lea Salonga maybe...I'm still thinking...is Stephanie J. Block too old? Esmeralda needs to be more earthy and str

Broadwayenthusiast, parents have the right to protect their children from inappropriate content...that's why we have movie ratings. Once kids reach a certain age, they're given more leeway to determine what's appropriate or acceptable for themselves. But until then, between the ages of, oh...say 0-10, it's their parents decision. I believe moms and dads should be allowed to keep their young children's unbelievably impressionable minds from experiencing foul language and sexual content, without b

Let's see...off the top of my head...
The Light in the Piazza
Grey Gardens
Curtains
Dreamgirls and Hairspray soundtracks
Sweeney Todd and Company Revivals
Drowsy Chaperone
Mary Poppins

Michael Buble- Call Me Irresponsible (okay, that's not Broadway, but it ROCKS!)

That's all I can think of right now! Hope that helps!

re: Whats your favourite new song from Hairspray the movie????

Well, I think I'm gonna have to go with Ladies' Choice...I never ever in my wildest dreams thought I'd go for ANYTHING Efron, but...
WTH?

All I can say is....YES!!!
re: Looking for a NEW Kind of Broadway

See Curtains! It's so fun :) My whole family saw it together, and everyone found something they enjoyed. In my opinion, it's worth it to see the current cast as well.
re: Which show would YOU be in?

Hmmmm...well I MUST play Clara in Piazza before I die, but that's not on Broadway anymore, so...I'm gonna go with Niki Harris in
Curtains :)

re: Worst Broadway Audience Ever?
 Jul 30 2007, 03:32:47 AM
Definitely the audience when I went and saw Phantom on Broadway last March...cell phones, noise, you name it...people even had the nerve to LAUGH at the Phantom during the big climax when Christine kisses him (spoiler, haha, sorry, but if your enough of a Broadway fan to be on this board, you probably already know how "The Phantom of the Opera" ends... ). Anyway, it was absolutely disgusting. I absolutely cannot understand why anyone would fork over enough money to sit on orchestra level, and th
