re: I MISS THE GOLDEN AGE of MUSICALS May 8

I just turned 53 in April and I think I know what you are referring to. My first Broadway plays were The Sound of Music and Camelot. The music, lyrics from the shows during the 50's, 60's and some 70's were original for the most part and very classic. I still know all the words to all the songs from those shows. Although I loved Momma Mia and thought it was creative that they made a story to go with the songs, it isn't the same as Lerner & Lowe or Rodger's and Hammerstein or Andrew Lloyd

Thanks Andrew for the info. I am assuming you live in NYC. I live in NJ and it ain't easy to be running back & forth into NYC esp. with train delays. I guess I will pay the $66 I can purchase on BroadwayBox.com, less hassle. I wanted to take my son's girlfriend to see this play. She is a student at Rutgers. She is 20 and never been to a play so for Christmas I treated her and my son to see Beauty & the Beast. She is hooked. Now she is taking my son this Friday to see Les Miz.

It is a shame it cannot be based on childrens literature because I thought of tons being an elementary / special ed. teacher and a mom. I did like the idea of Robin Hood but that was a cartoon by Disney and many movies were done with that theme. I looked to Hans Christian Anderson and came up with The Emperor's New Clothes The Little Match Girl The Snow Queen The Brave Tin Soldier The Ugly Duckling Then I searched my boxes of books in my attic and came

I am a newbie to SR and partial view. I am from NJ and refuse to stand in line at 7am for a matinee or evening show. Somewhere on this board someone mentioned getting partial view tickets. How does one do this? Can I buy 2 or 3 tickets for partial view? I'd appreciate any / all info. Thanks.

1960/ 1961 Camelot - my first play, I was 7 years old and it is still my all time favorite. Same year Sound of Music. Then I would have to say West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, King and I, Evita, Momma Mia, Gypsy, Annie, Oliver, Cats and although I never saw it on Broadway but elsewhere, Brigadoon.

I have never done a student rush before. If I plan to go for a Wed. matinee in May, how early should I go to the box office? How many tickets do they sell for student rush?
