Actually he started on stage and then became a pop star.

'It still boggles my mind why she would agree to making her Aretha series when Jennifer Hudson had already been cast by Aretha herself, and the biopic was already underway."
She did it because she's a working actress and needs to pay the rent, and oh she probably wanted the part. You're not one of those people that think every actor is a millionaire who can just turn down work left and right, are you?

Loving theaters as much as shows themselves, I've sat everywhere thru the years from front row, boxes to back row but not a big fan of theaters with no standing room. It cuts off access to many who just can't afford a seat. As a kid on Long Island, you could hop on the LIRR on a Sat morning and get standing room for $10 bucks and see the hottest show in town, but not here. In everyone's re-imagined renovation of the Broadway add standing room.too.

You do realize it's 2021 doncha? It's not 1975 where box office was it, you're a hit or a flop. Today movies make money from Box Office, Soundtrack CD & Downloads, On Demand,& PPV, Digital, DVD & Blu-ray sales, Premium & Basic cable sales an

Go to 3:10 into the video. It looks like Linda three panels up and three panels across. Love all the choreography panels. So much to take in.

"Night Must Fall" 1999 Lyceum with Matthew Broderick & Judy Parfitt.
Everyone sitting there waiting for the show, chatting, reading the Playbill and BOOM all the lights go out and everyone is in complete darkness as a huge thunderclap hits. Everyone jumped, totally unexpected as the lights come up on a rainstorm outside the drawing room set windows. So cool and that effect would never work today as there would be a hundred phone screens illuminating the room.

My friend saw it and loved it. But he is like 99% of the world who go to see shows to be entertained which he was. He doesn't see shows with the purpose of destroying it, analyzing every moment, song, dance step or painted flat.

re: Who Have You Seen Naked on Stage? Jan 15

" Will Swensons dinger in hair."
Wow consider yourself lucky as the Broadway lore is with speed, lighting and hiding behind the rest of the cast, seeing Will Swenson's "dinger" was rarer than an actual Bigfoot sighting
Not going to relist the usual suspects already listed, one I haven't seen anyone mention is Sigourney Weaver going tits to the wind in "Hurlyburly".

New B'way Gift Shop and Interior Tour Dec 23

Question, why would you be open only until 4:30? Is that the time the city allows at your location? One would think you would very well with Broadway based merch up until 8:00pm with the thousands of people passing on their way to an actual Broadway show?

You do realize it's not 1980 anymore? Now besides just box office, there are 4K/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital sales, (which includes library and rental kiosk locations) Premium Cable, Basic Cable, local networks, PPV, On Demand, Streaming and Soundtrack revenues too. It may never make a profit, time will tell, but will most likely break even.

" Not having been in Manhattan for almost 4 years I have to ask. What happened to the old Times Square which was to have been used for a few different projects all of which died on the vine."
From everything I have heard The Times Square can't go legit because when Garth Drabinsky took over the space occupied by the The Apollo and Lyric, he took up the block on 43rd St. and left no room for a loading dock to the Times Sq. Apparently the city won't allow
