FLOYD COLLINS to be given Broadway revival by Lincoln Center Nov 21

If it were up to me, I'd cast Pasquale in practically everything. But I think he would have come across as too old for Floyd.

Lizzy would be quite a get. Jason is probably too old for the brother. Not thrilled with Trensch. Never been a fan of his voice.

Only downside: two Sabrette hot dogs for dinner. Naturally, I was starving. I am expecting this to be a good combo: serious musical, silly short comedy, and a soap. Will see."

MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING musical, featuring Burt Bacharach catalogue songs Oct 7
2024, 11:32:06 PM
I haven't seen the show, but watched the promo video and Matt Doyle is singing Promises Promises. I know they're using all Burt Bacharach music, but has a musical ever used a song written specifically for another musical before? I'm drawing a blank.

Beanie Feldstein & More to Star in SPELLING BEE at Kennedy Center Aug 29

I'm glad I didn't buy my tickets before the cast was revealed. It feels like it will be the "Beanie (and the husband of her best friend) Show"and everybody else is just meh (except for Bonnie - who, like another poster said, will sing the h*ll out of this)."

No, they are being very secretive. And everyone who attends must put their phone in Yonder pouches.
I was able to catch it for the second time recently and glad I went again. Score is fairly strong, but still have issues with a lot of the lyrics. I'm not great at catching changes, but enjoyed the show much more the second time. Show still runs

Welch’s GATSBY to premiere in 2024 ART Jun 21

Jarethan said: "I read three knock-down raves for the show and a decidedly mixed one from Theatremania. It will be very interesting to see what they decide to do post-ART. In every scenario but one, you would expect them to book a Broadway theatre (if they had not already). Unfortunately, they are dealing with the one scenario that creates problems... an inferior version beat them to the punch and is doing respectively at the box office).
I guess that London would be the best move...Build some time between productions and hope for acclaim that they can leveraged here.
I see it July 9th and can't wait."
Other less positive reviews, which I don't think will matter. I'd be surprised if it's not Broadway bound.

To be fair, not many are in her league. But, can't you just enjoy it? I mean, come on.

Saw it tonight. It would be interesting to revisit the show later in the run to see what will be changed. Thought the three female leads were excellent. Male leads were fine. The highlight no doubt is the choreography. However, I had a few problems with the show. I just didn't care enough about the daisy/Gatsby relationship. Not sure if it's the book, or the songs or the actors, but I wasn't moved... Wasn't a big fan of the other Gatsby either, but I bought their relatio

Curious how the reviews will affect Cabaret going forward. The Wiz is the one that continues to surprise me the most.
