Has anyone seen "Cougar the Musical" yet? I was there tonight and was pleasantly surprised.
It made me laugh and had some really touching moments. The cast was wonderful -- Brenda Braxton, Catherine Porter, Babs Winn and Danny Bernardy.
It's still in previews but the house was packed. Any one else care to chime in?

What a fascinating thread. It was like reading a good detective story!
The only reason that I'm posting this is to mention that Motown did record at least one other Broadway cast album: the 1970s revival of GUYS & DOLLS starring Robert Guillame (sp?) and Ken Page. To this day, it's still my favorite recording of GUYS & DOLLS. "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat" really ROCKS!

Goodness, me -- "dull" on stage? Did you see his thighs in XANADU? I thought he was incredibly funny and delightful. I saw him for the first time in the Broadway hit ALL SHOOK UP. Well... maybe "hit" isn't the right word. In any case, he still is simply dreamy.... :)
