Mean Girls @ The National in DC - Reactions
 Nov 7 2017, 02:23:19 PM

Saw Mean Girls on the weekend and I desperately wanted to love it, but it needs a LOT of work.  I'm a big fan of Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin but as a previous poster said, this show is not making a compelling argument that this story should be a musical (and I think any story can be a musical if done right).

On the positive side, Tina Fey's dialogue is definitely hilarious and some of the new lines are hysterical.  Though I know a lot of people on he

Your friend should complain to Nederlander Customer Service. And if they go back again, take videos of the security guard letting it happen.

If I were doing the cancellation line from now on, I would do what the people in front of me did on Friday and take videos.  Or even tell the guy who is supposed to be managing the line that you're going to be taking videos of him from when the line sitter goes to buy the ticket and if he lets them exit the box office or hand it over to their clients, then you're going to send the video to Nederlander Customer Service.  So if they want to keep their job, they better do it ri

Vibe was good.  People were really kind and supportive (including the line sitters).  It got tense when stuff was happening with swappers, but even then it felt very supportive because everyone was annoyed by the swappers.

Bucky3, the answer to both your questions is I don't know.  I think someone said that the manager guy said he'd been around out front at like 6am that morning so he knew who was there at that point.

They did enforce the no chair rule at points, though I think the line sitters pulled them out again occasionally once the RR staff member went away.  But once the manager guy came out, they asked for all chairs to be removed from the area.

I don't think the RR considers swapping within a pair that are both going to see the show to be breaking the rule.

I agree about the swapping between family members and friends being similar to having a line sitter (though they are probably slightly different and obviously you're not paying for a friend).  I personally don't think they should allow swapping of any kind. But I'm just saying what I think RR said to the lady who asked.

From what I could hear, the RR told the clients trying to swap in to go to the back of the line seeing as they had just arrived and they told the line sitters they could buy tickets but they would have to then go in and see the show themselves.  I think the sitters initially said they would buy tickets themselves but then didn't.

I think the reason the people up front were willing to call out the swappers was because there was a woman waiting in line who had waited a

I did cancellation line today and the new policy had to be self-policed by the line and the people further ahead of me had to make the RR staff enforce their own policy.  From what I could understand, a couple of line sitters had been at the front of the line.  One of their clients turned up at around 5pm and several people further in front of me who had been waiting all day pointed out that the client was swapping in. And they had photos on their phones to prove it.  I only ar
