Matilda closing question? Jan 2
2017, 02:54:48 PM
i saw Matilda and thought it was wonderful. The audience was packed.
are there reasons besides poor ticket sales why shows close? Because it didn't seem like it was a struggling show, but I am not in the know.

TONY Award for and Actor/Actress when show wasn't a hit Dec 2
2016, 10:26:13 PM
I guess I am thinking, a show, not reviewed well at all. But still some standout performances. I think the easy calls are the BIG Ben Brantley reviewed well stories. Obviously those all get nominated, and everyone in them.

There are some great Matilda discounts online right now, if you don't want to chance the rush. I think as cheap as $59 or $69 dollars. And it's worth every single penny.

Matilda Nov 30
2016, 09:35:34 AM
Matilda was everything that it should be, but started to make me think that other shows are getting a bit dated. I felt the same way after seeing Aladdin.
Would a show like The Lion King ever get a makeover? And don't get me wrong, I love Lion King, its just that suddenly its not the best thing out there anymore.

Maybe this has been discussed before, but I have seen some productions this Fall where there were standout performances, but the show didn't go over well with reviewers. Have you? If so, name them here.
Mine are: HAROLD PERRINEAU in The CHERRY ORCHARD
CORBIN BLUE in HOLIDAY INN
And then there

Supporting Actor Tony Race.... Oct 26

I would say Corbin Bleu for Holiday Inn. (Musical)
I would say Harold Perrineau for Cherry Orchard (play).
Even though the play got panned, he will/should get recognized as well as Celia Kenan Bolger for featured actress.
