Yes, this is a new adaptation that incorporates many of the best parts of the book and scenes inspired by the 1967 movie. It is (in my own opinion) both a loving tribute and a hilarious send up of the original. This particular script (by Doug Miller and Bob Hess) was first produced in Dallas in 2007... I just wish I could have seen it in the big apple! (I may be somewhat biased as another member of the 2007 Dallas cast)...
