The Cher audition is an urban legend. It never happened. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t in talks for the role. But she did not audition, and if she had, it would never have been onstage or in front of other cast members.

Interesting that Karen Olivo is working at the Hirschfeld Theatre which is owned by the Roth family who co-own several buildings with Trump, supported his presidential campaign, attended his victory party and inauguration, and Steven Roth served on Trump's Economic Advisory Council.

Rudin doesn't need Isherwood or anyone else to fall in love with a show, as he did with this one, and if you know anything about how he operates you'd understand that.....Rudin's shenanigans are usually about the competition.????
That is exactly what was at stake if Isherwood was tipping off Rudin in advance. There were multiple parties in discussion about the transfer rights and if one party got the review in advance, then "The transfer, negotiated by producer Scott Rudin before the reviews had come out," is financial gain as a result of an insider tip.

Except that Isherwood reviewed Rudin's biggest money make of the past few years The Humans - twice. Rudin announced the transfer of The Humans from the Roundabout "before the reviews came out" which no one ever does unless they have the review in advance.
