Drew Gasparini's Crazy Just Like Me in NYMF 2011 Sep 19 2011, 11:48:53 AM
Pretty psyched for this. Anyone else seeing it or have any other NYMF recommendations? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJSS9BSMGQM Glad the NMT community is getting some NYMF love this year, and the cast is amazing! (This video is one of my favorites, it's Drew Gasparini singing one of the songs from his show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tn6R0qPqyCk)

Catch me if you Can Preview Thread Mar 18 2011, 01:57:27 PM
I agree that the use of the aisles was an interesting concept, but I was sitting in the 4th row of the mezzanine and I couldn't see any of it. So that means that a whole chunk of the opening and closing numbers of the show was lost to half of the audience. Another fail.

Catch me if you Can Preview Thread Mar 14 2011, 10:13:29 AM
I haven't read the rest of this thread so this may get redundant, but this show was HORRIBLE and here are a few key reasons (this may contain some spoilers): 1) The book: Lines were pulled directly from the movie. The filler lines written for the stage version had no depth (the big Frank and Hanratty emotional moment culminated in "You're pretty cool." Seriously, that's verbatim the line from the show. Then there’s a hug and the show is over.) Watching the show was like watching s

Pretty excited about this, I love Carner and Gregor's stuff. Out of the Bay is one of my favorite new musical theater songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLJlcimFm1E And Andrew Kober is always amazing. High hopes for this!

NYTimes article on Star Power on Broadway Sep 28 2010, 11:17:44 AM
"How do you recast roles that grow to be heavily identified with widely recognized actors?" -- Good casting and less closed-minded PR? I think the producers who can find the next Barbara, the next Patti Lupone, the next Sutton Foster are going to have something really great on their hands. A fresh face, a no-name, but actual TALENT. As for Night Music, I am of the opinion that they should revoke CZJ's Tony and give it to Bernadette.

TRAILS @ NYMF Sep 28 2010, 11:05:11 AM
Just searched for any recent video and found Vanessa Ray singing Miles of Time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCia1fAoHZk It looks like this was when she was still learning the song maybe, but I'm still in love.

TRAILS @ NYMF Sep 28 2010, 10:52:52 AM
I'm a really big NYMF fan and I cannot WAIT to see this show in this year's festival! I've been listening to the music on their website (www.trailsthemusical.com) because there are more songs posted than on the NYMF site, and I LOVE this material. And the cast is supposed to be amazing. Can't wait to see what they put together.
