Chris Jones (Chicago Tribune) really guzzled the "the pandemic has killed the theatre. We must be overly kind to get butts in seats" koolaid and never really stopped. His critical eye is extremely lacking in the Chicago theatre scene, other critics have followed suit, and thus the quality of production has slipped as well.
