POLL: What Hit Musical of Old Should Next be Revived on Broadway?
Um, how about none of them. Broadway, simply put, is a money making machine. It stopped being Art almost shortly after it was invented. So the musicals that made money in the past don't work so much today, because different things make money today. If you revived an old musical, it wouldn't be about the musical, but about the transplanted movie star playing the lead, the director's "twist," and other variables that have nothing to do with why the musical was written. Broadway Sucks!
