Yes, they're waiting in the wings (theatre expression, sorry), but they don't actually have to be at the theatre. They do not have the same contracts as the leading kids. The leading kids have a duty to be at the theatre, while the ballet girls have a duty to be accessible and in the city, or at least able to come in on a very short notice should the corresponding girl be unable to perform. Hope that clarifies matters.

James is going to be at the theatre this weekend, and should one of the ballet girls feel unwell, there is a whole other team of ballet girls waiting in the wings. George is going home this weekend for a well deserved rest after a long spell of performances which he did without problem (spare the performance a few days ago, which still wasn't as caotic as when Liam had to be switched a while ago).
