Funny Girl revival?

Lady Gaga is *rumored* to be playing Fanny Brice in the *rumored* revival of Funny Girl. It's a little too early to ask this, but, how do you guys feel about this? Shoshana Bean did fanny beautifully a couple years ago and it is her dream role so I'd love if she got the role.

my point was that she has been already constantly doing stuff, online concerts, an EP, etc. in order to join this website do you have to be assholes already or does it come with the sign up? never posting on here again if low like people like you feel the need to give attitude to someone over a broadway website...now thats sad

Well I think that relies on the assumption that other performers know what she is up to, because there still seems to be some disagreement between them. That being said, this is veryyyy "shoshana" of her- she sure knows how to put on a show lol.

Did anyone see Sho beans instagram? she deleted every picture and now just has this weird profile picture and posted this color thing...is this a cryptic announcement ? or do you think she was hacked?
In my head i am hoping this is a new album, but if she was working on a new album, she sure as hell has been quiet about it...she did an NYC popup, online concerts, and is even doing a youtube concert this week, so i dont know when she would find time to record a lot of music. What do yal

Have any of you listened to Bean's Spectrum?

I think my favorite album in the ENTIRE world is Shoshana Bean's album Spectrum. The soul, rasp, grit, and pure emotion combined with the jazzy big band- nothing compares.
If you haven't listened to this masterpiece, I would do it as soon as possible- just listen from top to bottom (there are 10 songs, some covers and some originals- I promise you won't be disappointed).

Big band/jazz/blues musicals out there?

Just found out about this website and am already obsessed. Can anyone recommend me some big band/jazz type musicals- something along the line of in the heights or Aladdin the musical? There are some awesome trumpet parts in both and the jazz in aladdin is genius- and i would go far as to that "prince ali" is one of the best jazz arrangements i have ever heard, and ive been playing jazz piano since 3.
(In the heights isn't really jazz, but it has that great big band feel and gives you some of that "stank face"
Any more musicals with this vibe? hopefully some modern ones- I have had chicago mentioned to me too many times lol.

Why the Shrek hate?

I have always wondered what the aversion was to Shrek the Musical. Let me give you my thoughts.
The costumes are absolutely stunning. The set and the set changes are some of the most beautiful stage work I have ever scene- especially the magic mirror into the castle scene. The music is SO GOOD! Every single song is just...awesome. It is super funny and gives a great message: love yourself for who you are.
