Actually, no. The 2009 Apollo Theater production was a new staging that incorporated LED screens instead of

Just realized 2026 will be the 20th anniversary of the movie. I bet that means it's almost guaranteed to use the movie-inspired alterations.

YES! Every staging since the Longbottom 2009 tour (including the UK version and the 2023 Goodspeed staging) seem to want to be "The Movie Live on Stage!"

Wonder what happened to michael berresse, who opened as Zach in the 2006 revival?

I agree we won’t see one for quite awhile. But there could be some legalese that in order to do it on broadway, it has to be the original choreography 

 

Yes, it definitely made me want to see a full broadway revival again, and yes I would have bought merch if the had any.

there were 2 cameras set up in the back of the orchestra section. I asked an usher, he said it was for the Library

When he talked about a revival (before he got to the updating part) someone yelled out “definitely!” and he just said “eh” which I found disappointing since that made it sound like he wasn’t interested in doing one anytime soon 

Surprised no one here has mentioned the upcoming production at Goodspeed Opera House later this year, billed as the "50th Anniversary Production." I asked on their Facebook page, and they stated it would be a replica production. I am planning to come out from California to see it. Could this be the production that eventually moves to Broadway?
