People who NEED to write/compose musicals

Jun 4, 2016 — 6:25:51 PM

I just finished watching Bo Burnham's stand-up special "Make Happy" on Netflix (It's amazing, if you're okay with stand-up you should check it out, it and "what."Profile for karmachameleon2 | BroadwayWorld Message Board.?format=auto&width=600 He has this theatrical-type style to his stand-up, where he takes full advantage of the stage and performs songs on his piano, kinda like a younger, American Tim Minchin. I always felt that his style would be perfect to create a musical, and "Make Happy" reaffirmed this belief with his composing and writing skills vastly improving. So I got the idea to ask this here: who have you always wanted to pen a musical (either the book or the music/lyrics), but never has?

Assassins Movie Fan Casting

Jun 28, 2013 — 8:59:57 AM

Eh, can't really see any of it. Maybe McCarthy. The Balladeer and Oswald are the same person in new versions, so I imagine that would carry into the film. And while Zangara is usually played by a white guy, movies are more realistic and Zangara was more dark-skinned, so that probably wouldn't fly.

Actually, I chose McHale on the merit that he kinda looks like Oswald. Seriously. Also, I imagine Hinckley to be more built.

Assassins Movie Fan Casting

Okay, this might sound a bit stupid. But I digress?

I've always wanted to see a movie adaptation of the Sondheim/Weidman musical, Assassins. I've been in love with it ever since I heard both the Off-Broadway and Broadway recordings. I got a chance to read the book from my library. I love the complex story it carries. I think that with the right director, it could make for a great film that expands and stays true to the material. I even made one of those crappy fan casting lists (it is really hard to find actor:

Petition to raise interest to bringing "London Road" to Broadway.

Nov 17, 2012 — 11:29:23 PM

Hello, I am writing to say that I have just started a petition to bring the West End production "London Road" to Broadway. I found it to be a visionary concept that would be a big success here. Mind you, this is not forcing the creators to get to work on it, but rather just raising interest in the possibility. And no, I do not work for the production. -_-

Kickstarter for Soul Doctor - a new musical

Jul 23, 2012 — 7:04:25 AM

I'm not involved.

I'll admit, I did find this Kickstarter before I found BroadwayWorld, but I just wanted to see some experienced input on it. I actually do have an interest in theatre, though. If I was part of it, I would've let you guys know. Hell, I'm only 14.

Sorry if I misled anyone.
