What was the most shocking Tony Win/loss ever?
Personally I was shocked (shocked as in horrified, not surprised) by Billy Elliot winning Best Musical over Next to Normal. I was mostly upset because it verified the stereotype that these awards shows are highly political and that frequently the commercial success wins over the piece that actually has integrity.
