Who was the best Paul in ACL? It ain't Tam

Thought Jason Tam totally missed the mark -- his singing was flat and his monologue very stilted: no nuance or real feeling. It seemed at times that he was having trouble remembering the words. Such a wonderful and historic moment of theater history and it was total oatmeal. Who was the best Paul?

Best thing was Patti Coheneuer as Mother Abbess. Luker couldn't act and the script had been tweaked with scenes from the film. On the whole, it was pointless.

Why not if Deidre can play Sheila? Put on your color-blind shades or be pilloried as a racist! How dare you not see Audra as anything but whatever she wants to be! She's great when she plays a white chick. Didn't you see Carousel, you dolt? She started this whole trend.

Why not be color blind in casting Nellie as well -- say Audra or LaChanze -- then with the leads equalized, we can direct our racism toward those dirty, double dealing Polynesians.
And frankly, BSM's Broadway career has been fortified with color-blind casting, why should it make a difference now? If he was vetted by the R&H Organization for the concert, this should not be an issue now.
