As far as age, Shrek seemed to have no age restrictions. Every night I bartended there, the coat room was full of strollers. I guess the cutoff was around 2 years old actually. There was one night, it was raining, that a woman got up to the mezzanine wearing a rain poncho. I was there. I work in the Broadway/New York store on the 45th st. side of the Marriott. Broadway Baby is our sister store, so two of my co-workers were there when the bullet came into the store. My take on the sound system is, it's great because you can hear everything, and it's terrible because you can hear EVERYTHING, including those crazy guitar riffs.

I am so looking forward to this show. It comes from one of my favorite books, and, although we haven't talked in a while, Jason Sellards (aka, Jake Shears) is a former roommate of mine, so this is very exciting on a few levels for me.

One of my favorites is my Playbill from the 1982(?) production of Othello with James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer. It's always makes me happy to know I saw Dianne Weist a Desdemona and Kelsey Grammer as Cassio before I knew who they were.

Maybe Drowsy could be a sort of Purple Rose of Cairo in reverse, where he's in an old movie house and he gets pulled into the film.

Even though not a Broadway performance, I feel remiss in not mentioning Meryl Streep in Mother Courage in Central Park. Stunning.

Her name was mentioned early on, but I just don't get Karen Ziemba. Brilliant dancer, but that's about it for me. Her singing is just okay, and I don't care for her acting at all.

Was looking over the nominations and noticed that 'Third Rock from the Sun' star Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a producer on Slava's Snow Show. Just found that funny.

Liza was clearly having a great time, and she looked wonderful, but the voice just wasn't there.

Naked Boys Singing took over this years serious dance piece from The Lion King, and did a beautiful job, it was quite moving. But the highlight of the show to me (on Tuesday) was Tovah Feldshuh. What an incredibly funny woman. She was only introducing skits, but she kept the whole audience in stitches. My favorite was a joke I believe she also told at the Broadway beauty pageant. A truly great actress, with the best comic timing ever. She will be sorely missed.

Working in the Broadway/New York store right under the Marquis, I give directions all the time, and my favorites are the people who ask where the Lion King is playing. Since it's right across the street, it's always my easiest directions.
