If memory serves, the actual reason Dustin Hoffman didn't receive a Tony nomination for his highly acclaimed (and eventually Emmy-winning) Willy Loman in 'Death Of A Salesman' had nothing to do with any prejudice against film actors on Broadway but was instead purely political. The fact that he refused to do eight performances a week, because of the taxing nature of the role, and only agreed to six per week, pissed off the various unions (who lost work due to those two missed perfor
