I brought a large insulated tote bag from Sam's club. Not nearly as comfortable as a chair, but much more packable. I also brought the newspaper from my hotel room, because I'd seen people recommend that as well. My goal was to keep anything touching the pavement from soaking up too much of the chill, and also from getting too dirty.

Look. I just want to point out something about getting a line sitter.

There might be something you don't know about the situation. I have multiple chronic illnesses, including a muscle disorder. I have suffered badly for my trip to NY two weeks ago, though I wouldn't trade it for the world. But I've missed work days and I've been dragging myself around on a cane, which thankfully is rare for me these days.

I went to the Hamilton show website and looked for available tickets. Perhaps that's not where they put them; it was my best guess.

They said if we passed on the premium prices seats they'd go back and offer them online. I checked only about 20 min later and there weren't any available, so either they were gone or not yet posted, but I'm actually guessing the former.

I was sitting alone, and the folks next to me were happy to keep an eye on my things while I ran for the restroom. Others went for coffee. I kept my valuables on me, for my sake and theirs. Didn't seem fair to leave them with that responsibility. You just need to be around when the tickets might come up, and don't leave for too long or it's really not fair (even if you do have another person there). My personal opinion.

I was able to get tickets Sunday through the cancellation line.
