Hamilton Chicago Jan 30 2019, 10:54:34 AM
Ha interesting timing! After giving up my ticket to Hamilton Chicago two+ years ago (and this thread being dormant since about then) I’m FINALLY seeing the show here in Columbus on Saturday! (Aka three days away!)

Does anyone have any thoughts about stage-dooring at Hamilton Chicago? How long of a wait it's likely to be, how many people are likely to come out?
My daughter & her friend are at the show RIGHT NOW (her review to follow!) and would like to stage door but we have limited time in Chicago and may want to use it for other stuff if it's a long wait/ not likely to be worth it.
I entered the lottery twice (for the matinee and the evening show) and came up short

WOW velevele what an amazing review! Thank you!
I am someone who tried VERY hard to see the OBC and while we are very much looking forward to seeing it in Chicago, I've thought of it as a bit of a consolation prize. With the exception of Lin, looks like Chicago may be even better in some ways. Really encouraging!!
Looking forward to your part 2!

I've been in touch with the theater about the cancellation line, and this is what they said:
"You can go to the Box Office and wait in the outer lobby, that is the 'cancellation line.' If it starts to looks like there are a lot of people in the lobby the Box Office attendants will directly you were to go, or where for form an actual line."
She didn't say anything about how many people I can expect/ when to arrive (I asked) but I find the "IF i

In part, I got the ticket because it was a single and easier to sell - but also because it was a "house seat" that was being held back. "
Oh wow! I know that's nothing to plan on but it's certainly encouraging!!
Thank you

So does anyone have a sense of how the cancellation line works in Chicago?
When I was trying to get to NYC I had a really good sense of about what time of day I'd have to arrive in line to actually get tickets, but I don't yet for Chicago.
I have two tickets -- good seats -- for November. They're a surprise birthday present for my Hamilton-obsessed daughter, whose birthday is a few days before the show. I planned to be her +1, but her best fr

Thanks, that's encouraging! We'll be in right orchestra, row H, and nothing about limited view. So if your seats were pretty good then ours should be just fine? (We haven't seen it yet at all and definitely want to see everything we possibly can!!)

Airconway, yep, this is why I asked my question in fact -- trying to figure out if there is any reason to switch dates. (Good luck!)
Thanks for feedback re: alternates. I really thought that others were regularly off too, but that may have been towards the end of their run.
Still would love to catch Miguel. For most of the Broadway run Javier Munoz stepped in for the Saturday matinee specifically, so that's my worry. (The show I have tickets f

I thought I remembered from when I followed this closely that it wasn't just Lin/ Javier, but that Renee, Daveed etc., also had regular days that they didn't perform. If only Miguel Cervantes is at risk of not performing at our show, that's a relief (although of course we'd like to see him).

Thanks for the hotel recommendations!
Question: Does anyone know what the schedules are for Hamilton Chicago performers?
I've searched Google and these boards and haven't been able to come up with this info, but apologies if I've overlooked something.
My daughter is an enormous (HUGE) Hamilton fan, and I've gotten her tickets to the November 26th matinee in Chicago. Managed to get them via Ticketmaster when they became available (no

I'm really sorry to hear this business about the system not being honored, it worked so so well when i was there a few days ago. I got to see the show after 68 hours, both the line experience and the show made it so incredibly worth it and i would certainly do it again. I've documented my experience in its entirety if anyone is interested. It's long, but contains everything you need to know and more, and i think that you'll enjoy the read. I can't say how thankful all the info on here was for the past several weeks. I really appreciate it. Best of luck to everyone.

Yeah I can't make anything work. Just "Searching.... sit tight" FOREVER on my laptop and won't load at all on my phone.
Sigh. Still hoping Chicago works anyway.

The original Broadway cast is always the best. Out of all the people who auditioned in the world, those people were determined the best of the best. I have no doubt Hamilton in Chicago will be great, but the best cast is always the Broadway one. Touring casts never comp
