Here is finally some proof about the upcoming national tour!
Also, Detroit has it listed on the subscription page on the site. However, no dates are listed either, and it's the last show in the line up.

This must be the continuation of the U.K. (and Paris) tour that extends through this summer (into September) and then moves to the U.S. in the fall. It's scheduled for the Paper Mill Playhouse Nov. 19 to Dec. 19, 2010.
The U.K. tour production, I guess, originated with the Theater of the Stars production that played Wolf Trap (Vienna,VA) and the Fox (Atlanta) in September 2008. That production had the back-wall (moving) projections of Victor Hugo paintings (drawings?). There were tech rehearsals and two preview performances at Ike Hall (West Point, NY). [The projections worked great, except at the outdoor daytime shows.]
p.s. John Owen-Jones in European tour. Any chance he'll be coming here?

Posted: 3/4/10 at 10:13amI don't think it has anything to do with that mini-tour, although from what I heard, the NETworks tour is somewhat inspired by it.

From first link above:
LES MISÉRABLES is currently on an international tour, visiting Cardiff, Manchester, Norwich, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Paris, Bristol, Salford and Southampton and has already sold out in most cities with extra performances being added. The new LES MIZ will open in the U.S. this winter.
From the second link:
But the creative team was asked to re-imagine the show and has done so, not least by adding more Hugo and, I think, more intensity.
More Hugo? Well, the subtle, hazy paintings of rural France that led Delacroix to say that the writer could have become a great artist are often projected on to (sic) the back wall.
p.s. In 2008, the term used was re-envisioning; the U.K. tour is described as a re-imagining.
And same back wall projections.

Sorry. I don't get it. What meaning of "new" am I misinterpreting?
From the 25th Anniversary Tour (UK tour) information:
"Cameron Mackintosh presents a brand new 25th anniversary production of Boublil & Schönberg's legendary musical, LES MISÉRABLES, with glorious new staging and spectacular reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo.
"This new production has already been acclaimed by critics, fans and new audiences and is breaking box office records wherever it goes.
"The new LES MIZ will open in the U.S. this winter."

Posted: 3/4/10 at 4:58pmI'm extremely excited for this to be stopping in Portland. Ideally it would stop in Seattle, but I am happy to drive down to Portland for this because its probably the musical I want to see more than any other.
