Hi,
I'm going to get in line for Hair tomorrow. What things should I bring? Also I'm thinking of having my dad stand in line at Hair While I stand in line for SA rush for the mat. Do you know if we'd have enough time after getting the Hair tickets to get up to SA in time for the 2PM show?

"What things should I bring?"
Search.
"Do you know if we'd have enough time after getting the Hair tickets to get up to SA in time for the 2PM show?"
http://www.hopstop.com or the MTA website for directions that will give you a time estimate.

If you have to ask, it's probably receding.

Posted: 8/22/08 at 4:29pmIf you're at the very front of the HAIR line, you will have your tickets by 1:01 PM. If you're number 432, you'll be out of there by 1:15.

How many ticket windows do they have? How many tickets do they give out per day?
Will I have enough time to make it up to SA by 1:50?

Posted: 8/22/08 at 5:12pmThey just hand them out. You don't go to the window. It really depends on what time you get there and how fast they are. If you're worried, go to the line really early.

1. My portable DVD player ( that I got from last Christmas) 5 hours battery life
2. Spare battery pack for my portable DVD - 8 hours battery life
3. DVD's that I rent (usually from the $1.00 a day vending machine)
4. binoculars
5. Ipod
6. markers (different colors) for signing Playbills
7. watch (use it inside the theater instead of my cell phone which I only use to text during a show, never talk, and take pictures if camera does not work or get past security to post many many photots on Broadway Worlds)
8. My Metro Card in case I lose/spend cab fare on something else so many thing to by.
9. Wet Ones (you never know when you might get to exciting and need to clean a mess)
10. Breakfast & Snacks
11. (not included for obvious reason) My camera to take many many picture to post everywhere on Broadway Worlds.

I was about 20th in line a few weeks ago...and I didn't walk out of the park until 1:20. They only had ONE person doing the tix and they did the elderly/handicapped line before ever starting on the regular line.
Unless you plan on being there by 5 or 6 am, I would guess you might be cutting it awfully close.

The best thing to bring is a friend...since you could play cards with them etc. Otherwise, bring lots of things to read, however you like to pass the time. Definatley bring snacks. I wish that I would have brought some blankets or pillows to sit on...as others have said- the concrete is pretty hard after 3-4 hours. If it is going to be sunny, bring sunscreen. There was a man there who was renting chairs and selling coffee, fruit etc.
I got there at about 6:30 am Wednesday- I had my tickets by 1:15. I think you could make it to a show by 2 pm...I'd grab a cab on CPW. Have fun!

Posted: 9/3/08 at 5:31pmIt's very hard to win. I think they have about 50 tickets. I have no idea how many try, but I'm sure it's a lot. I try most days and never win.

Posted: 9/3/08 at 5:32pmI get the impression that not many tix are given out in the virtual line. I tried it every day for about 2 weeks and got my hopes up each day...only to get the dreaded..unfortunately, you did not receive tickets today. Please try again soon. I highly recommend the cancellation line. We got there at abvout 5:45 pm and got great seats- 9th row in the dead center. Hope you get to see it.

How long was the line at 5:45? And what day of the week was it.
I would like to get tickets for this Saturday (September 6th) But I don't really want to wait on the line and I can't to the city before 8:30-9ish

Posted: 9/3/08 at 5:55pmWe went last Sunday, and we estimated that we were about the 100th or so people in line. It is a bit nerve racking since the staff will give no hints as to how many tickets will be available- as I'm sure that they don't know until they have them. We got our seats at about 7:55- and it looked like the staff member had a pretty big stack to handout. FWIW- everyone who I have seen post about this has had good results (and very good seats) in the cancellation line. I waited all day the first time I saw it and my seats where higher up and off to the side. The woman behind us was by herself, and some very nice man must have liked her energy or something because he walked up to her and just gave her a ticket for no reason at all! Must have been her lucky day.
