Ok, so, I am gonna go see RAGTIME on Friday. I am taking the 5:18 from Penn Station that gets in at 5:52. I am having trouble finding a train for after the show? I can't seem to find one that stops at Millburn and Penn Station after the show? Anybody have any insight?

During weeknights, I think the last direct train from Millburn to NYC is at 9:57. I believe you have to take the train to Newark and then transfer there to the PATH back to NYC, but I'm not sure.

I just did this two days ago.......... so here goes......
I have my trian schedule still......
the last train leaves at 11:46 pm and puts you into NY shortly therafter.....
I remember having plenty of time after the show to go to the station..... So clean and nice.... what a wonderful little town!!!
One of my theatre friends that I live vicariously through plays Evelyn Nesbit (the girl on the swing without a swing)
Shes freaking incredible.... another one of those CCM kids just waiting to be discovered. I think she would kill me if she knew I was writing this!

Weekend is ONLY Saturday and Sunday. Friday is Weekday schedule and the last train is at 9:57. The PATH runs all night though.

Friday is a weekday.
Take train from Milburn to Hoboken and take the PATH into Manhattan - same train station in Hoboken for both train and PATH.
If you get off at the Newark station on this train line expect to wait until next morning to get into NYC because there is no PATH train and has never been at this station.
To clarify musicalsFan's post, there is NO PATH train at Newark-Broad Street. The PATH is at Newark-Penn Station (which is not the same as NY-Penn Station to confuse you further). like MF said - if you catch a weeknight train, take it to Hoboken and then PATH it into the city. There is a 10:25 and 11:26 train from Millburn to Hoboken. You'd path it from there.
.pdf link of the relevant train sched is linked below.
Someone also mentioned busses in the original thread, but I don't know anything about those:

You are right, MadameX.
Two different train stations.
For travel at that time of the night, it is important that
people give the correct information.
I've been to the Newark Broad Street station during the daytime,
and I wouldn't want to be stuck there at 11pm realizing that I
was at the wrong station.
Suburban train stations in NJ are very deserted during non rush hour times *especially* at night.
You should be okay in Hoboken because of the crowd that will be
changing over to PATH from NJ Transit.
