This looks great.
Since one of our very own beloved board members is a former orphan I wonder if she was invited to participate in the project. I didn't see her name anywhere.
Corine, when you did ANNIE did you use your real name, or did you have a stage name at the time? Were you asked to be a part of this?

Actually, that would be fantastic!
(By the way, I've looked at the photos on the website and don't see any of Our Cor. HOWEVER, I would like to offer a full body massage to the Director of Photography.)

Sueleen. Please post the original picture and not do Julie Stevens a disservice by putting Corine's head on her body. Especially after all th hard work Julie has put into this film.
I did see it and despite some minor flaws, it's a lot of fun (with heartbreaking moments) to watch. If you get the chance to see it - you definitely should.

I've seen it too and agree with Craig. It ran slightly long but it's a good watch for theater fans because it goes very in depth into what happens on a tour and how children are influenced by the business. Julie did a great job of finding a lot of people who were in various companies of the show.
There's an article about it in tomorrow's Arts and Leisure section of the NY Times so check it out!

I'll confess this. I clicked on the excerpt link at the movie's website and for some reason all I got was sound and no picture. And I listened to the whole thing and it made me teary. Without even the visuals. I've always been a fan of oral histories.
I must be premenstrual. Somebody hand me a bag of Doritos and some Cadbury.

That film clip was kinda haunting and just a little depressing. No wonder child stars struggle so much as adults. And these kids were "known" in their day, but not stars. They were treated as stars though, and it's such a hard thing to shake.
Human nature unfortunately is to always want something more, or something better than we have... the next step up the ladder... but if you shoot out of the gate at such a young age to such heights, how do you match or exceed that step in life? They don't even possess the emotional tools needed to be able to deal with that yet.
I think the healthiest comment was from the woman who said she doesn't compare her experience in Annie to anything else in her life. It's completely separate from everything else she's ever done as a human being. That, to me, is a very healthy attitude. She hasn't tried to live her life inside those memories, or ignore them as if they never happened. She's put them in their proper and unique place. Boxed off, as a fabulous, crazy curiosity, and separated from everything else.
Very nice work putting this together!
But one (obvious) question... Where's Andrea McArdle?

Posted: 7/8/06 at 4:18pmI wish they included Lea Salonga. Ofcourse, it doesn't seem right without Andrea. Also, does anyone know if that girl who won the Macy's competition but was kicked out is included in the film?

Having a documentary about the orphans who appeared in "Annie" without having Andrea McArdle? Isn't that like having a film about every actress who's ever played Dorothy in a production of The Wizard of Oz without showing Judy Garland?
You kinda need her as the cornerstone to this project, at least in my opinion.
I still think it's an effective piece, but it's lessened dramatically by Andrea's absence.

Posted: 7/8/06 at 9:12pmWildcard, Joanna Pacitti (the fired Annie) does appear in the film. She isn't in "Wicked" now. She is in LA working on releasing a solo album which should be out sometime this summer. Her website is www.joanna-music.com. It looks like she is opening for Sheryl Crow.

Posted: 7/8/06 at 10:35pmLea Salonga never played Annie in the US. If she had included Lea, where would Julie have drawn the line in regards to who she interviewed? Should she have gone all around the world?
#23re: Life After Tomorrow Documentary
Posted: 7/9/06 at 1:50amI don't really care if she went all around the world, but couldn't she have at least made it to Corine's Corner?

Here is the link to the article. It doesn't mention Corine, either. Hmmmm...
