COLOR PURPLE rush

Hey, gang. I'm wondering what time tickets go on sale for the rush at THE COLOR PURPLE. Going with a friend this coming Tuesday. Never rushed it, got full price tickets for Christmas and want to give it a second chance.

Should we get there earlier than 7:30? They go on sale at 10, right?

Yup, they go on sale at 10am. If you get there at 7:30am you should be fine. The folks who were first in line arrived at 6am when I was there the Wednesay before the Tonys. You can get there as late as 8:30am and still get a ticket, but I wouldn't push your luck. 7:30am should get you a good seat.

When I went we got there around 9:15 and there were about 50 people there. The earliest ones had gotten there around 7:50am but most of that line was a large group.

We went on a 2 show day and what they SAID was that the matinee rush goes on sale at 10am and the evening goes on sale at noon.

What they DID was split the line up at 10am and sell both at the same time from different windows.

We were able to make it into the matinee cause most chose to get in the evening line. BE QUICK ON YOUR DECISION!! haha

We got front row on the side. A bit obstructed but totally worth it! GOOD LUCK

And you can get evening performance seats in the morning, correct?

Yes...10am for every showtime.

I rushed last Friday. I got to the theatre about 8:00 and was about the 11th person in line. They give out 30 tickets and I was about ticket number 22. I was thrilled with my seat and think my positioning in line wound up giving me the best rush seat they gave out- which was second row, seat 110 (dead center). I think the last people who got tickets that day got into line about 8:45. I really think this is the best rush on broadway right now. Seats were amazing.

This was the craziest rush line I've ever waited in. I went on a Sunday and got there at 8:30am and the box office didn't open until noon. And I was one of the last people to get seats.

I was number 16. Not everyone bought two tickets so there were still a few left after number 15 (they give 30 tickets). The first two people got there at 7am! They had chairs and pillows and blankets and food and everything with them!

Wow! The first time I rushed The Color Purple was during previews and I showed up a couple hours before the show and got front row center. Looks like I'll have to pack a picnic if when I want to do it again.

It was crazy. And this was 2 weeks ago...so it's been on Broadway for a while. I thought for sure that I was getting there extra early just to be on the safe side. But rush lines are fun anyway...I love them...you get to spend 3 hours getting to know new people, so when it comes time to see the show later that day, you feel as if you're sitting next to good friends.
