#0My Spamalot Adventure (with INFO about Sara's vacation)

So I'm in the city this morning, around 9ish, to get a rush ticket to Lennon. I'm walking around Shubert Alley and I see 20 people in line for the Spamalot SRO. I decide that it's an opportunity not to be missed, so I get in line, thinking that I wouldn't get anything. Lo and behold, I got a matinee stand, and there were a lot left after my ticket was sold.
The show itself didn't really do it for me, I figured there would be more to it. Personally, Dirty Rotten was better than it, but whatever.
Tim Curry was spot on, as were David Hyde Pierce and Alan Tudyk. Sara was the stand-out as usual, and was even more beautiful in person than she was on stage.
At the stage door, David came out as usual, as did Chris, Alan, Michael, and Steve. And the illusive Sara, who never came out the many times I was there, made an appearance. Maybe Riedel's article got to her. That's what I thought, before she told me she's going on vacation next week.
Favorite Line:
Arthur: I thought you were a fairy.
Lady of the Lake: Oh, no, that's Lancelot. You must have missed that scene.

How tall are you? Where is the best spot if you are short?

Posted: 8/18/05 at 8:14amIf you are to the extreme right of the theater, you have to be really tall to stand there. The floor gets lower as you go more and more right so if you are short you will definately have a hard time seeing if you are like the last two spots on the right.

Posted: 8/18/05 at 9:17amAfter seeing Lennon/stage dooring it, my friend and I were walking past the side entrance of Spamalot, and RIGHT in front of us, walks Sara Ramirez out of the side door, while the crowd of 200= waited at the normal stage door.. she walked across the street and got into a car.

Posted: 8/18/05 at 9:29amI think they usually go back inside after signing and then leave from a different exit so technically she could have signed and then was leaving, but it's true she doesn't always sign. She has been much better lately though. I know they usually announce when no more stars are coming out and people still wait around hoping to catch them, so they probably don't actually leave from that exit.

You are correct, the principles in Spamalot come out the stage door, sign and then go back inside to leave through another exit.
Think of how much longer the actors would be there with everyone and their mother stopping them for 'one more picture' after they've already spent 30 minutes - an hour signing and posing.

My friend and I got the last two spots on the right-hand side, and I'm 5'1" but I was wearing shoes with about four-inch heels. If I hadn't been wearing those, I wouldn't have been able to see.

Posted: 8/18/05 at 12:47pmAfter seeing Lennon and stagedooring last night, my friend and I were walking past Spamalot since Lennon was right down the street and were like "Let's check out the stage door to see if Sara comes out" which we knew she wouldn't because she never does, so as we walk past, we see a side door open and just standing there is Sara Ramirez! We were starstruck and she just was like "Hi" and walked to her car across the street. It was so awkward but it was so funny because we were just talking about her. And then we see the mob at the stage door and we left.

God must be nice to be in NYC and be able to attempt to get last minute tickets.
I paid through the nose for spamalot tickets, but figured it was cheaper than flying out there again just to go see it.
