Initial casting looks great already...

I went to this last year, and it's a really fun event.

Wow, it's really been a year since the last one.
But agreed, cast looks great so far!

Posted: 9/20/06 at 4:36pmI dunno, I'll decide when it gets closer. If they have student tickets again, I think I'll seriously consider it, but if not, there's no way I could pay full price.

Yeah, I just realized it was $200.
When the Playbill article doesn't include a price, that's when you KNOW it's expensive...

Posted: 9/20/06 at 5:44pmI think I'm going to go, but if Jennifer Aniston is not there I'd be really upset for spending $200.
#6re: The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway 2006
Posted: 9/20/06 at 5:47pmThen you should know that the cast is VERY subject to change; last year several people on the original list ended up not being able to be there.

#8re: The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway 2006
Posted: 9/20/06 at 5:52pmWow, all that's left are the $200 mezz seats?

So, what are the chances of Jennifer Aniston actually doing it? I was kinda surprised to see her name on there...
There are orchester seats avaliable through American Express.

I went to this at the Fringe a few weeks ago - the night I went was the night they showed the play featuring Elizabeth Berkley, Rachel Dratch, and Ally Sheedy. Cheyenne Jackson and Andrew McCarthy were also supposed to appear, but were apparently replaced last minute.
That particular play was very funny, the 4 others were very hit or miss. Some were great, some so so, some not so good. But considering the amount of time they had, it was pretty impressive.
I'd recommend this to anyone who is able to go, it's a very different kind of theater and a really enjoyable experience!

Posted: 9/20/06 at 11:51pmI'd go just to see Patrick Wilson. That man is my idol. But, I couldn't afford it either, do they come out of the stage door? I'm not sure how this thing works.

Posted: 9/20/06 at 11:55pmFor whatever reason, though the American Airlines theater has a stage door, it's often not used and the actors typically exit through the lobby. But the answer to your question is yes, they do come out and sign stuff, etc.

Posted: 9/21/06 at 12:09amOh, well then why spend $200 bucks just to see them? If I'm going to invest all that money in something, it's going to be on something that I want to see.

Wait, what? $200 "just to see them?" Youre paying to see the performance; that's usually what you get when you buy a theater ticket. Or are you asking if you would be able to meet them outside the theater after the performance without having seen it?
I'm hoping that since student rush was so well-recieved last year, they'll decide to offer it again.

Posted: 9/21/06 at 12:20amI hope they have student tickets again. This is actually the weekend of my fall break. I can't believe it's been a year since last year! *is nostalgic*

OMG, the first time we met was at the 24-hour plays last year! Wow.
I really hope for student rush tickets as well. The cheapest regular tickets this year are $200? Wow.
Though the cast is subject to change, it works both ways. Last year we had a surprise guest actor in Hayden Christiansen.

Student Rush Update!!
We will have a student rush if there are any tickets
remaining. Because it's just a one-night thing (and a
fundraiser), we can't set aside lower-priced tix in
advance...
Thanks!

Thanks Tina!
We understand it is a benefit, and certainly you want to be able to raise as much money as you can by selling tickets for the highest prices possible, but thanks for allowing rush if tickets are still available.
Please keep us updated on rush as it gets closer!

I'm trying to remember- we got rush tickets that day, right?
Like, we lined up for hours and hours for it? Or was that the Elvis Costello thing?
#24re: The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway 2006
Posted: 9/21/06 at 12:19pmIt was the day of, yeah. They were sold an hour before, or something, but there was a line earlier. I got there around 4 p.m., I think.
