ironically enough...
...she was SUPPOSED to be performing with the Cincinnati Pops in oh-so-not-lovely Ohio Sunday evening...I was supposed to be there...and then on Friday she cancelled because she 'fell ill' - kinda screwed up my whole life a lil bit since my schedule's so jam packed and planned to the minute...
Interestingly enough, since she was scheduled for two concerts, one the 9th, one the 16th, they gave us tix to the 16th in exchange...and we still have great seats...hmmm...I have a hunch that "fell ill" is code for "I'd rather play to one packed house for one show than two shows to two half-empty houses" but...I do love me some cheno, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
but because she and I are in a lil bit of a fight, whereas I'd normally find this thread mean, I'm gonna laugh at it. cause it's funny. and I'm still not happy that she cancelled her show, lol.

Okay, this thread is very funny.
But I met Krisitn at her concert with the Boston Pops last summer. Besides blowing the roof off of Symphony Hall (and she did) with her really incredible concert (I had dragged my family there, who agreed with me), she was so nice and genuine with her fans. One little boy came up to her with an envelope, shaking, and she opened it to reveal a picture of her and him, presumably at the stagedoor of Wicked. She exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! This is going up in my dressing room! Thank you so much!" The kid couldn't speak cause he was so nervous.
She thanked everyone for coming and made a real point ot get around to everyone. She was wearing sunglasses and she told us, "Now I now what this looks like, but I swear that I'm not wearing these to be a diva! The camera falshes give me migranes!" she giggled. She even joked about her attendence record at Wicked when one couple asked her to sign a Wicked program saying, "We missed you last week . . ." meaning at the stage door, but Kristin bit her lip and said, "Was I in it?" to unaminmous laughs from the crowd, none as loud as her own.
When she came to me I told her a story concerning her that meant a lot to me. Most stars just want to sign your program and get the hell out of there, but Miss Chenoweth listened to my admittedly long story and looked really moved. She then gave me a huge hug and as I walked out, she turned from signing a program and smiled, "Good luck!"
This thread is funny, but from my experience Kristin is a really genuine and wonderful person. I haven't heard one person on this board with something against her other than that she missed the performance they were going to or they just don't like her style. This cooked up notion that she is a mean person is kind of ridiculous and fabricated by crazy Idina fans.
Personally, I have always enjoyed Miss Chenoweth as a performer since You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. I don't know where all this crap comes from.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good laugh and chuckled at this thread. But please remember that these are people too. Don't be mean just because your under some false precept that they are bad people.

I actually adore Kristin, and can support gherbert's high opinion of her. She really IS a good kid from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. And given how her career is going, she's a smart one, too.
Personally, I think she was mopping her kitchen floor and layin' down the Combat afterwards.

The really makes time for all of her fans. I had the priviledge of going backstage and when she walked inside a friend of mine and I had flowers and a present for her (long time Cheno fans) and she stopped and took pictures...opened the gift right in front of us...talked to us for a while. She is probably one of the sweetest performers I have ever met.
Next to Kate Reinders. But, then again, who is Kate Reinders but a younger version of Cheno?

Posted: 1/11/05 at 5:39pmi hate to break it to all of you, but this christian thing of hers is just a sham. she's as pagan as they come and was in fact chanting to the moon goddess while torturing a barbie she'd painted green and dressed in navy blue. at the same time she sabotaged the trap door the wicked set model she'd paid one of her minions to steal from eugene's snl office. she knew exactly what was going to happen, oh yeah. voodoo chile, slight return.
