This is the Playgoer playbill for the post-Broadway tour of "On Your Toes" in 1937. This is from the one week run at The Cass Theater in Detroit (some of you may remember it as The Summit. It was demolished in 1977.)
I bought the program on eBay a few days ago.
Often, the Playgoer covers had much better photos than the Broadway Playbills. That's a very young Ray Bolger and Luella Gear with the lovely Tamara Geva behind them.
What the hell. It's such a beautiful program I'll put a few pages up. I should be writing tonight and the studio I'm writing for will get angry that I'm slacking off but we got our butts whipped real good by THE DARK KNIGHT so I suppose that's all they'll be talking about on Monday.
