Dasani Water

Am I the only one who tastes a real difference between Dasani water and, well, any other kind of water?

I'm generally not one to pick up on the minute taste differences between different brands of water, but Dasani tastes different to me, and not in a good way either. I had it yesterday and was reminded why I avoided it for so long.

I think it tastes different, too, but in a good way. My mom makes fun of me for having such a distinct prefernece, because she doesn't think you can taste the difference between types of bottled water.

Ew, really? You like it? I feel like I'm tasting something that shouldn't be in my water.

I usually can't taste the difference, unless it's Fiji or Dasani.

Yeah, I like it. Dunno why. I had Fiji for the first time last summer, and it's so good. Not worth the price difference on a regular basis, but it's quite good.

I ONLY drink bottled water unless I'm at a restaurant or home in PA.

I don't really like Dasani or Aquafina. My favorite is zephyrhills.

I like Dasani and Aquafina.

I hate Fiji.

My favorites are Poland Spring and Evian, though.

PS: Huge amounts (over a long, long period of time) of Fiji are bad for you. Causes stones.

Really? How/why?

I think Fiji tastes smoother than other bottled waters, but I'm not sure if it necessarily tastes any better.

Has anyone had that new Smart Water stuff? I've had it once. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

Yea, I am curious about how and why it causes stones. I never drink Fiji- I think it's one of the most expensive waters anyway.

I am prone to kidney stones so I'm just wondering what it has in it that can cause them.

I can definitely taste the difference in bottled waters. My favorite is Poland Spring, my least favorite is Dasani. I also can't stand flavored water. I have my quirks when it comes to water. I will not drink tap water (even after it's been filtered) and I only drink water from a bottle, never a glass.

What about Evian or w.e? I don't like that one at all.

I don't like Evian water. People who drink it are so naive. Sorry, I know that's a really old joke- someone had to say it re: Dasani Water

I like Smart Water. I have friends that SWEAR by it.

Fiji (like some other waters, I'm sure) can cause stones because of it's high amount of mineral content. If you look on the back, you can see all the minerals inside. Yes, it's good for you, and I'm sure you won't have a problem unless you're very unlucky and happen to drink Fiji water twice a day for 30 years.

I live near the Leisure Time Water plant, upstate NY. When you consider they're water source is probably the same as my well, I'm totally saving money by drinking tap water.

I don't like Dasani, tastes weird. It's Costco brand for me.

Dasani is not spring water. It's just filtered tap water, bottled by Coca-Cola.

I usually can't taste the difference, although I do not like Publix brand water. But I LOVE the Dasani Rasberry water. It is almost all I drink. I'm obsessed with it. I know many people don't like it, but I drink it 24/7.

I bought the Dasani water in Penn Station the other week and it tasted "off" to me, too. I'm a Poland Spring chick. Well, that and Vitamin Water. I am hooked on the Multi-V (lemonade).

Poland Springs and Deer Park are the ones I mostly drink, Deer Park at work is cheaper than the other brands and for some reason tastes better, it's strange that there are subtle differences in water.

I hate Dasani, it's the worst out there and I'll drink Aquafina if I have no other choice.

It's funny because I hate Poland Springs and I only really ever drink Dasani. Weird how that works.

PJ, it's worse than that. It's the water that Coca-Cola uses to wash off its cans and then distills and bottles. I found this out because the last company I worked for also owned a Coca-Cola bottling plant. I mean, the water is distilled and clean...but I can't get past the ick factor with Dasani anymore.

Because of that company's affiliation, we couldn't get anything to drink in the office that wasn't bottled by Coke, and that meant all our bottled water was Dasani.
