Cinderella: Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) or Sierra Boggess(The Little Mermaid) both already have ties with disney and would force me to never stop listening to the soundtrack. Maybe Anneliese Van der Pol

I will be surprised, and frankly a little bit disappointed, if any of the roles are "doubled" on film.

If Charlize Theron could handle the vocals, I'd give her The Witch. She can play sarcastic/bitchy very well and everyone knows she loves a good transformation. I'd love to see her all roughed up like she was in Monster.
She just did Snow White, so I don't know if she'd be willing to go into such familiar territory, but y'never know.
The Baker and The Baker's Wife are the two most important characters in the piece, IMO. They're the heart of the show. I'd really have to think about those two.
Emma Stone needs to be in the film somehow whether she's Cinderella or Little Red. Not sure if her voice could handle Cinderella. She seems like more of an alto to me.

I'm telling you Elizabeth Banks should be the Bakers wife. She even has a similar singing voice to Joanna Gleason. She's a flawless comedic actress able to play deep roles. I adore Elizabeth Banks. I love how she says "I'm a terrible singer" at the beginning, but, to me, she sounds better than a lot of people who actually call themselves singers. She's not terrific, but with some lessons, she could actually be quite wonderful.

I thought the same and she has that quintessential down to earth attitude and dead pan humor coupled together with genuine warmth the bakers wife needs.
I also suggested Theron when this was first announced. She reportedly took some singing lessons to try to get the part of Roxie Hart in the Chicago movie, by the way here she is singing in mighty joe young http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ddUltyvA_Y, before she took the voice lessons.

I agree. Would love to see her paired up with a Paul Rudd or Steve Carell type. Just no Neil Patrick Harris, please! I find him so bland. He seems to be the "it guy" for musicals these days.

Charlize actually has a pretty voice. Don't know if she has the belt or power behind it that the Witch needs. I'm always fine with lowering or raising keys to suit performers, though. As long as it has a similar dramatic power, I'm fine.
Acting-wise and in terms of her physicality, she's perfect for the role.

I'm bringing this thread back because today I'm going to buy the first season of 'Once Upon a Time'. And since Disney is going to distribute this film and 'Once Upon a Time' airs on ABC, a branch of Disney, I remembered that on that show Red Riding Hood is being played by Meghan Ory, who just turned 30 this month. So, I wonder if Disney and Marshall will have Red Riding Hood be played by someone over 20 or in their teens. What do you all think?
