I don’t remember that. If that’s true, what do you think the appropriate action should be? Should she be made to walk onstage before the show now and apologize for (possibly) saying two wrong words in the third preview of a new show? Or should it be something more humiliating like a public lashing on top of the marquee, so all passerby’s can see what happens to Emmy Award winning actors who say a wrong word on stage, as a warning to any actor who might dare attempt such an egregious action in...

My relationship with this musical is an interesting one. I loved it when I saw it off-West End with Jamie Parker and then was really cold to it when I saw the West End transfer to The Ambassadors. So I was really surprised when I found myself very moved again by it down at The Public. I can’t make sense of why, but I’m very glad I took the chance to see it again.

The bit with her saying how the right needs to learn to forgive the left felt like the playwright wanted us (the left, presumably) to say “Oh wow both sides kind of are the same” but like you said above, I’ve never once heard that come from a right winger so it felt extremely manipulative.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. It starts off incredibly strong but sets up way too much that’s never dealt with and in the end I just felt it didn’t go anywhere. Excellent performances across the board but it all felt very (and I’ve sat here for 5 minutes trying to think of this word) aimless. When the show ended, there was so much more than needed to be cleaned up in the plot that I was pissed off when the lights went out. Not to mention I HATED the final scene but it just lef...

Looks like Wednesday matinees only, they have $119 tickets in the mezzanine. Cheapest tix for the entire run so they’ll go fast, I’m sure.

The casting here is so spot-on. Ruthie Ann and Leslie are hilarious together, Nathan and Maxim as The Boys are such a special pair, David and Kevin just work magic and Zane is the surprise of the evening for me. He’s PERFECT as El Gallo. His voice is superb and just everything about him is perfection. I can’t wait to go see this again.

Oh I adored this tonight. Curious how people not familiar with this musical will find it because I could see people losing focus in act two, but for me, it was musical theater heaven.

I can't even tell you the amount of "younger" people with vids on TT/IG that start with some variation of "I haven't seen it, BUT..." when talking about this show. But that's also because people's outrage/love for it is part of my algorithm on those sites, just like it is for anyone commenting that they see so much of it.
