AMELIE In-Person Rush

How has the in-person rush for AMELIE been lately?  Optimal arrival times, etc.?  Thanks!

I have no idea how it is normally, but last Tuesday I got the last rush ticket an hour before curtain.

That's helpful--thanks. I can't find any info on running time.  Would you hapoen to remember?

Didn't realize it's a one-act show. Thanks very much.

If sales is slow (which it seems to be) I think they open up more rush tickets as performance gets closer like an hour or two before curtain.

Have anyone rushed recently? If so, can you tell me what time people have been lining up and the seat locations? Thanks!

It may have been because of spring break, but last Thursday they sold out of rush right after the box office opened.

They do have standing room available when it sells out.

Stopped by the theater around 1:20pm today because I was in the area.

Doors were already open so I figured I had no chance to get a rush seat for the matinee. Ended up getting two seats in the left orchestra, 5th row. Quite a few empty seats on the extreme sides in the first few rows of the orchestra so I assume they had even more rush tickets left.

I tried it on a weekday before the holiday, which I think was spring break for a lot of places. Arrived at about a quarter of ten and there were 6 or 7 people ahead of me. I think only the first two people in line actually got rush tickets. The rest of us were told that there were a handful of seats left for the performance, but they were all full price, and that there would be standing room if/when the show sold out. I got SRO about two hours before the show. Maybe I had an unusual experience because of my timing.

Maybe it was a really well sold performance?

When I went on Wednesday, almost every aisle seat on the extreme sides of orchestra were empty. And maybe ten rows in the middle of the orchestra were completely desolate. The mezzanine didn't look too crowded from what I could see.

Based on availability, do you think a few hours before curtain would be OK or should I go in the morning for rush? I don't know if things will pick up now that it's closing... or if they have a certain number of tickets or they'll just sell whatever's available as rush.

Stopped by today at 11:30 and they had rush tickets, got seat E 14, extreme right, marked as partial view... hoping it isn't that obstructed though...

When I went to pick up my tickets a little after 6pm yesterday someone was buying rush tickets in front of me.

Rushed this morning. Got there at 9:45am, was about 8th in line. $39 partial view orchestra left seat.

How is the rush line right now?

So I did go yesterday at 4:30. They didn't have any rush tickets left but I was able to buy extreme side view in the mezzanine for $49. It was actually a great seat all things considered. The front mezzanine is closer than a lot of the orchestra seats in the Walter Kerr aside from the elevation. I was able to watch the musicians in the box if I wanted to. And all I had to deal with was the lights in my peripheral view. I will say that a big chunk of the rows behind me were empty and I could have moved if I wanted to but I was happy with my seat and felt awkward about it because of the 1 hour 50 minute no intermission running time. But if you go and feel like moving... it's a possibility. The couple in front of me ran over to different seats as the lights went down. Also, legroom is terribly tight up in the mezz but the rake is great. No worries about taller patrons sitting in front of you! Whatever the next show in the Kerr is, I'll definitely think about mezz seats next time.
