I hear they want to make the show multi-racial. I don't exactly agree with that. A friend of mine thinks that the Actors Fund (HAIR/CHESS/DREAMGIRLS) should do THE WIZ next year cause they can bring in ALL the heavy hitters to do it..and maybe that getting a good response will convince the producers to do it all black...at least the leads. It can be amazing..it's such a great score. The original Tornado was AMAZING!! This woman was the "eye" of the storm, and she was on top of the house and commanded all of the dancers...who were dressed in like all black Aristocratic costumes...very artsy!

I love that cast you picked Watusi...and to have Stephanie do Glinda would be great..I can just hear her belting "Believe In Yourself".

Althought "The Wiz" was originally written
for an all black cast, I think it will be a great
idea to make it multi-cultural, though Dorothy
should be black. I cant imagine every race writing
their own version of the Wizard of Oz
for example:
El Mago de Oz (Spanish)
rediculous!
